International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO)

In 2022, two students from Olympiads school, Kaixin Wang and James Yang, were selected for the 6-member national team that represented Canada in the IMO.

Canadian Mathematical Olympiad (CMO)

In 2022, two students from Olympiad School were in the top eight and received Honorable Mentions. They were Kaixin Wang and Jason Zhang.

Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiads (APMO)

In the 2022 APMO, three students from Olympiads School received various honours. They were:

  • Kaixin Wang: Silver Medal
  • James Yang: Bronze Medal
  • Xuezhi Wang: Honour Roll

Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC)

In 2021, Kaixin Wang from Olympiads School received a perfect score on the COMC.

Canadian Junior Mathematical Olympiad (CJMO)

In 2022, Emily Ma and Mark Raspopov participated in the CJMO. Emily was in the top five and received an Honourable Mention award.

European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO)

Olympiads School student Emma Tang was selected to the 4-member national team.

Another four students got into the second round of competition. They were Nina Geng, Sabrina Yu, Emily Ma, and Emily Liu.

United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (AIME, USAJMO, and USAMO)

Through the 2022 AIME, a total of 24 Canadian students qualified for the USAMO and 9 of them were from Olympiads School.

They were James Yang, Jason Dong, Joey Zou, Kaixin Wang, Jason Zhang, Yizhou Wang, Daniel Yang, Cullen Ye, and Leo Zhuang.

JMark Raspopov qualified and participated in the USAJMO.

American Mathematics Competition AMC 8 & AMC 10/12

In 2021-2022,

  • 39 students from Olympiads School qualified for the AIME through AMC 12A;
  • 42 students from Olympiads School qualified for the AIME through AMC 12B;
  • 23 students from Olympiads School qualified for the AIME through AMC 10A;
  • 20 students from Olympiads School qualified for the AIME through AMC 10B;
  • More than 39 students received Honorable Mentions from AMC 8.

Physics Competition

International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT)

In the 35th IYPT, Team Canada 10 members was split to two teams.

 

  • One team (5 members) went to Romania to attend the IYPT and received a team bronze medal. They were Emily Xu, Archie Shou, John Hu, Ian Lu, and Lily Dong.
  • The other team (5 members) attended online IYPT and received a team 3rd They were Dennis Lu, Jeffrey Li, William Deng, Allen Lian, and Celena Guo.
  • All members were trained at Olympiads School.

International Physics Olympiad (IPhO)

Canada did not participate in the contest this year due to the Belarusian support of Russia in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA)

In 2022, a total of six students from Olympiads School were selected for the 10-member national team and represented Canada in the IOAA. They were Daniel Yang, Connor Wong, Hongyi Huang, Simon Wu, James Pu, and Nicholas Wu.

International Astronomy Olympiad (IAO)

This year, four students from Olympiads School were selected for the 5-member national team to represent Canada in the IAO.
They were William Deng, Emma Yao, Zhengyi (Jenny) Wu, and Lilian Li.

Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP)

In 2022, Olympiads School students Connor Wong achieved 2rd place, Wenhe Zhang achieved 6th place in CAP.

British Physics Olympiad (BPhO)

In 2021, Olympiads School students achieved impressive results, including:

OAPT (Physics Competition organized by the Ontario Association of Physics Teachers)

The annual Physics competition organized by OAPT is held in May of each year.  This year Olympiads School students achieved the following results:

Grade 11 Group

Eight students from Olympiads School placed in the top 20. They were Hector Chen, Bill Yan, Laura Gao, Aaron Zhang, Patrick Lin, Cullen Ye, Sirui Hang, and Harry Zhu.

Grade 12 Group

Three students from Olympiads School placed in the top 20, they were Emily Xu, Joshua Zhang, and Gavin Xue. Among them:

Computer Science Competitions

International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI)

In 2022, two students from the Olympiads school were selected for the 4-member national team to represent Canada in the (online) IOI held in Indonesia. They were:

  • Allen Pei: Silver Medal
  • Edward Xiao: Bronze Medal

Canadian Computing Olympiad (CCO)

In 2022, 15 students from Olympiads School were qualified to write the CCO. They achieved outstanding results in the CCO.

  • Gold medals:

received by 4 students across Canada and three of them were from Olympiads School. They were Allen Pei (national team), Edward Xiao (national team), Mars Xing;

  • Silver medals:

received by 8 students across Canada and six of them were from Olympiads School. They were Kai Wen Yang, Ryan Guo, Max Jiang, Maxwell Li, Wangshu Jiang, Aaron Tang;

  • Bronze medals:

received by 11 students across Canada and nine of them were from Olympiads School.  They were Daniel Ye, Ben Zeng, Jonathan Zhao, Ray Wang, Thomas Yang, William Dai, Evan Lu, Warren Bei, Boshi Wang.

International Biology Olympiad Challenge (IBO Challenge)

In 2022, Olympiads School student Steven Luo was selected for the 4-member Canadian national team.

Canadian Biology Olympiad (CBO)

In 2022, Olympiads School students achieved outstanding results in the CBO held online.

received by 12 students across Canada and two of them were from Olympiads School. They were Steven Luo and Lukas Li;

 

  • Silver medals:

received by 24 students across Canada and eight of them were from Olympiads School. They were Jeremy Dai, Edward Gao, Anna He, Antian Jiang, Crystal Li, Daniel Lian, Felishia Tian, Tony Zhang;

 

  • Bronze medals:

In 2022, Olympiads School student Samantha Ouyang was selected for the 4-member Canadian national team to participate in the IChO and received Honorable Mention.

In 2022, three students from Olympiads School achieved outstanding results in the CCO held in April and were selected to the national training camp. They were Winston Yu, Daniel Lian, and Samantha Ouyang.

There were 26 students invited by University of Toronto Schools (UTS)  to attend stage two and 13 students scored more than 2000 in the SSAT exam.

 

  • Upper Level:

There were 18 students invited by University of Toronto Schools (UTS) to attend stage two and 16 students scored more than 2100 in the SSAT exam.
