Competition Results in Various Subjects

1. Mathematics Competitions

1) International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO)

In 2023, Kaixin Wang from Olympiads School had been selected for the 6-member national team to represent Canada in the IMO held in Chiba, Japan. He received a silver medal.

2) Canadian Mathematical Olympiad (CMO)

In 2023, three students from Olympiad School were in the top eight and received Honorable Mentions at the CMO. They were Emily Ma, and Kaixin Wang.

3) Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiads (APMO)

In the 2023 APMO, a total of ten students from Canada received various honours and three students were from Olympiads School.

 4) Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC)

In 2023, Olympiads School student Emma Tang was selected for the national team, which consisted of four students.

6) United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO)

In 2023 USAMO, William Dai from Olympiads School won the Bronze Award and Yizhouo Wang received an Honorable Mention.

7) United States of America Junior Mathematical Olympiad USA(J)MO

In 2023 USA(J)MO, Greta Qu from Olympiads School has won the Honorable mention.

8) American Mathematics Competition AMC 8 & AMC 10/12

In 2022-2023,

  • 44 students from Olympiads School qualified for the AIME through AMC 12A;
  • 47 students from Olympiads School qualified for the AIME through AMC 12B;
  • 28 students from Olympiads School qualified for the AIME through AMC 10A;
  • 24 students from Olympiads School qualified for the AIME through AMC 10B;

2. Physics Competitions

1) International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) 

In the 2023 International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), two students from the Olympiads School won bronze medals. They are Connor Wong and Wenhe Zhang.

2) International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA)

In 2023, a total of four students from Olympiads School were selected for the 5-member national team and represented Canada in the IOAA. They were Hongyi Huang; Eleanor Liu; Tian Pu; Debbie Wang.

3) Canadian Astronomy Competition (CAAO)

This year, four students from Olympiads School were selected for the 5-member national team to represent Canada in the IAO. They were Lillian Li, Thomas Yang, Prameet Guha, and Jed Lin.

 5) Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP)

In 2023, Olympiads School students Pu Tian achieved 2nd place, Wenhe Zhang achieved 5th and Connor Wong achieved 8th place in the CAP exam.

3. Computer Science Competitions

1) International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI)

Two students from Olympiads School were selected for the 4-member national team to represent Canada in the (online) IOI held in Indonesia.

2) Canadian Computing Olympiad (CCO)

In 2023, 21 students across Canada were qualified for CCO and 13 of them were from Olympiads School. They achieved outstanding results in the CCO.

  • Gold Medals:

Five students across Canada received gold medals and two of them were from Olympiads School. They were Warren Bei, Mars Xiang.

  • Silver Medals:

Eight students across Canada received silver medals and six of them were from Olympiads School. They were Paul Chen, William Dai, Evan Lu, Mike Qi, Daniel Ye, Evan Zhao.

  • Bronze Medals:

Nine students across Canada received bronze medals and five of them were from Olympiads School. They were Colin Cai, Boshi Wang, Xuezhi Wang, Raymond Wu, Tony Chen Zhu.

4. Biology Competitions

1) International Biology Olympiad (IBO)

In 2023, three students from Olympiads School were selected for the 4-member Canadian national team. Steven Luo and Gabriel Tian received silver medals; Antian Jiang received bronze medal.

2) Canadian Biology Olympiad (CBO)

Olympiads School students achieved outstanding results in the CBO.

There were three students from the top 4 list: Antian Jiang, Steven Luo and Gabriel Tian.

  • Gold Medals:

18 students across Canada received gold medals and 10 of them were from Olympiads School. They were Antian Jiang, Gabriel Tian, Irena Chen, Steven Luo, Andrew Fang, Edward Gao, Daniel Lian, Ailsa Shen, Andy Shi, Michael Wen.

  • Silver Medals:

38 students across Canada received silver medals and 9 of them were from Olympiads School. They were Jeremy Dai, Yuewen Gao, Leyan He, Sophia Laird, Lukas Li, Harsh Mutupuri, Marissa Shang, Felishia Tian, Tommy Wu.

  • Bronze Medals:

45 students across Canada received bronze medals and 7 of them were from Olympiads School. They were Ashley Dong, Kevin Guo, Sterling Huang, Jarmin Weng, Andrew Xing, Jessie Yan, Frank Ni.

5. Chemistry Competitions

Canadian Chemistry Olympiad (CCO)

In 2023, four students from Olympiads School achieved outstanding results in the CCO held in April and were selected to the national training camp. They were Kevin Yao, Sterling Huang, Gabriel Tian and Irena Chen.

  • In 2023, we had 2 students, Randy Chang and Maria Xu, selected for the 5-member national team, and 2 students, Rally Lin and Hao Ni, selected as the 7-member national reserve team members

SSAT Exams (In 2022/2023 Academic Year)

According to incomplete statistics for the 2022-2023 academic year, a total of 35 students from the Olympiads School were invited to take the second round of exams by the University of Toronto Schools (UTS)

  • Middle Level:

20 students from Olympiads School received invitations from University of Toronto Schools (UTS) to attend stage two and 9 students scored more than 2000 in the SSAT exam.

  • Upper Level:

15 students from Olympiads School received invitations from University of Toronto Schools (UTS) to attend stage two and 10 students scored more than 2100 in the SSAT exam.
