1) International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO)

In 2025, Meritus Academy student Zhekai Shen was selected into the 6-member Canadian national team to compete in the IMO.

2) Canadian Mathematical Olympiad (CMO)

In the 2025 CMO held in March, two Meritus Academy students, Zhekai Shen and Gee Yun Yiu, placed in the top 9 and won Honourable Mentions.

3) Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC)

In 2024, 8 students nationwide won the Canadian Champion Award, of which 3 were from Meritus Academy:

In addition, about 44 students from Meritus Academy earned national or provincial honours and qualified for CMO, CJMO, CMO Repêchage, and EGMO selection rounds.

4) Asia-Pacific Mathematical Olympiad (APMO)

In 2025, two Meritus Academy students, Christopher Li and Zhekai Shen, placed in the top 10, earning a Bronze Award and Honourable Mention respectively.

5) European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO)

In 2025, Meritus Academy student Emma Tang was selected into the 4-member Canadian national team for EGMO.

6) USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO)

In the 2025 USAMO, Christopher Li earned a Bronze Award.

7) USAJMO

In the 2025 USAJMO, Jack Wang earned a Bronze Award.

8) AMC

AMC 8:

• Nancy Li and Jennifer Xu achieved perfect scores
• Jaden Fu, Lecheng Guo, Ben Li, and Mia Yao received high scores of 23

AMC 10

• Phoebe Zhu achieved a perfect score
• Terry Chen, Greta Qu, and Anton Lazarchyk received high scores of 120+

AMC 12

• Jerry Yang achieved a perfect score
• Christopher Li received a high score of 141

1) International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) 

In 2025, the IPhO was held in Paris, Meritus Academy student Hongyi Huang earned a Silver Medal.

2) Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP)

In 2025, four Meritus Academy students ranked in the national Top 20: Anton Lazarchyk, Juntian Ye, Parth Sheth, Hongyi Huang

1) International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA)

In 2025, all five members of Team Canada were Meritus Academy students: Parth Sheth, Jinyang Hong, Sana Huang, Ethan Wang, Wendy Ruan.

2) Canadian Astronomy Competition (CAAO)

The following students from Meritus Academy achieved outstanding results:

3) CAAO Junior

In 2025, 6 students from Meritus Academy ranked in the top 10 of the CAAO Junior: Jared Qin, Bohuai Yang, Richard Chen, Shiyi Gao, Fred Cai, Isaac Tam. Among them, Jared Qin earned 1st place nationally.

1) International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI)

In 2025, Warren Bei and Tarek Ahmed from Meritus Academy was selected for the national team of four to represent Canada at the IOI.

2) Canadian Computing Olympiad (CCO)

In 2025, about 20 students nationwide were invited, 10 were from Meritus Academy.

• Gold (5 nationwide, 2 from Meritus Academy): Warren Bei (National 1st), Tarek Ahmed

In 2025, about 10 students nationwide were invited, 5 were from Meritus Academy.

In 2025, four students nationwide were invited, 2 were from Meritus Academy: Yilin Li and Angela Sun represented Canada; Yilin won Silver

USACO: Spencer (Zirui) Wang invited to the Finalist Camp

1) International Biology Olympiad (IBO)

In 2025, April Cao were selected for the national team of four to represent Canada at the International Biology Olympiad.

2) Canadian Biology Olympiad (CBO)

In the National Biology Olympiad held in 2025, students from Meritus Academy achieved remarkable results:

• Gold Medals: 17 students across Canada received gold medals and 3 of them were

from Meritus Academy.

• Silver Medals:44 students across Canada received silver medals and 6 of them were from Meritus Academy.

• Bronze Medals:61 students across Canada received bronze medals and 6 of them were from Meritus Academy.

3) USABO (USA Biology Olympiad)

In the 2025 USA Biology Olympiad (USABO), 2 of our students achieved excellent results and successfully advanced to the semifinal round.

4) BBO (British Biology Olympiad)

In the 2025 UK Biology Olympiad (BBO), students from our school achieved outstanding results which including 7 Gold Medalists, 8 Silver Medalists, 4 Bronze Medalists

National Debate Championships

The Canadian Students Debating Federation (CSDF) selects students from each province annually. In t2024-2025, four students from Ontario were selected for the national team, two of whom came from Meritus Academy: Zhou Jin and Liu Hanna.
